However, lithium-ion batteries are prone to cause chain exothermic reaction in the case of charging, collision, etc., resulting in thermal runaway, resulting in serious accidents such as vehicle smoke, fire, and even explosion. And the performance of power lithium battery packs, including energy density, service life, discharge rate, etc., is greatly affected by temperature, so power battery thermal management technology is one of the core technologies of new energy vehicles. During this process, a new type of thermal and flame retardant material emerged.
The thermal design of the power battery pack in electric vehicles is a key technology to ensure the reliable operation of the battery, and the selection of thermal conductive silicone gaskets is an important consideration factor in the thermal design of power lithium batteries. The liquid cooling and heat dissipation part of the automotive power lithium battery pack consists of a liquid cooling tube and a thermal conductive silicone gasket. The liquid cooling tube includes the internal coolant, which mainly completes the heat dissipation generated by the lithium battery pack, and the thermal conductive silicone gasket mainly completes the heat conduction between the battery cell and the liquid cooling tube. The thermal conductive silicone sheet used in the Ningde Era battery module has a 1W-3W low-density series of thermal conductive silicone sheets, which have good toughness and resilience.
Thermal conductive potting adhesive is a widely used silicone based potting thermal conductive material for new energy electric vehicles. It can form a soft, elastic, and surface adhesive silicone elastomer through addition curing reaction at room temperature, and also has excellent electrical insulation performance. In the traditional automotive field, thermal conductive adhesive has been widely used in electronic power modules, high-frequency transformers, connectors, sensors, etc., providing thermal conductivity while also having functions such as insulation and filling protection.
Thermoacoustic has a 1-4W series of thermal conductive potting adhesive, which can be cured at room temperature or by heating. It has excellent flowability and aging performance and can be used for a long time at -50-180 ℃. In addition, for some irregular heating elements, such as the gap between DC/DC conversion system, OBC system and power battery pack in new energy electric vehicles, our company has 1-6W two-component thermal conductive gel. After curing, it has the low stress characteristics of silicon gel, which can reduce the stress caused by temperature and external pressure. At the same time, the soft hardness can also resist a certain degree of vibration and impact. The biggest feature of thermal conductive sealant is that it is very convenient to use. Because of its high thixotropy and extrudability suitable for construction, it only needs to squeeze through the packaging pipe to the gap or contact surface.
